Holiday Workshops - OCTOBER

Despicable Me

Wednesday 21st October
Canada Hall

Throughout the workshop, the children will step into the wonderfully funny world of Gru, the Minions, Lucy, Margo, Edith, Agnes and their friends. We will explore the story of Gru and his mischievous Minions, looking at how the characters work together, the different personalities they have, and the themes of friendship, family, teamwork and having the confidence to be yourself.

The day will be packed with a mixture of musical theatre, dance, drama and creative activities. Children will have the opportunity to:

• Learn fun, energetic routines to some of the well-known music from the Despicable Me films
• Explore different characters through acting games, improvisation and role play
• Work on facial expressions, confidence and performance skills
• Take part in group drama exercises and create their own little scenes
• Learn choreography inspired by the Minions and other characters
• Enjoy themed arts and crafts activities
• Build confidence, make friends and, most importantly, have lots of fun!

Activities will be adapted to suit the different ages attending, so our younger children can enjoy a fun and relaxed introduction to musical theatre, while our Reception-age and older children will have the opportunity to develop their performance skills throughout the full day.
